ANANDPUR SAHIB – Sarbat Khalsa-appointed ‘Jathedars’ Dhian Singh Mand, Amrik Singh Ajnala and Baljit Singh Daduwal paid obeisance amid tight security arrangements at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib here today.

The three ‘Jathedars’ remained for nearly an hour in the gurdwara and attended kirtan too. Earlier, they visited Gurdwara Patalpuri Sahib at Kiratpur Sahib.

‘Jathedar’ Mand said they never adopted the path of confrontation and wanted peace in the state. It was the state government due to which there was no law and order in Punjab, he alleged.

Replying to a query on setting up of an office in the vicinity of Golden Temple, the three ‘Jathedars said they were not to weaken the SGPC or SAD. It was rather the Badal family that harmed the SGPC and SAD, they alleged.

‘Jathedar’ Mand alleged that the gurdwaras instead of the SGPC were being managed by the state government during the rule of Badals. The directions issued from Akal Takht in the recent past have harmed the Sikh community and now the SGPC-appointed Jathedars have been rejected by the ‘panth’, they said.
