South Asian Man Killed In Edmonton After Being Kidnapped From His Home

Police say Sudesh Chamara Bombuwala, who was nicknamed “Rocco” and “Johnny,” was kidnapped from his Edmonton home before his body was found last month.

EDMONTON – A South Asian man found dead in Edmonton was kidnapped last month from his home.

Morinville RCMP say 25-year-old Sudesh Chamara Bombuwala was kidnapped from his Edmonton home before he was found dead in a rural area west of St. Albert last month.

Bombuwala, who went by the nicknames “Ricco” and “Johnny” was found by a passerby near the intersection of Township Road 540 and Rural Route 263, 12 km west of St. Albert, on the morning of Aug. 9.

Edmonton’s chief medical examiner conducted an autopsy and determined Bombuwala’s death was a homicide. The cause of death has not been released.

RCMP are now looking for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area the day before, between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m.
