RICHMOND – Chai Chaupal is very popular program at India Cultural Centre of Canada Gurdwara Nanak Niwas (#5Road Gurdwara in Richmond). Every Monday, a number of dedicated persons-both males and females- enjoy their participation in the Yoga Program at the Yoga Centre lead by Yoga Instructor Nashattar Singh Matharu. The Yoga is followed by a very stimulating discussion as part of the long running ChaiChaupal Program. This Program was started by Balwant Sanghera about ten years ago under the joint sponsorship-auspices of Richmond Multicultural Community Services and Gurdwara Nanak Niwas. Every Monday, a number of issues affecting our community from local to national to international level are discussed in a very respectful and friendly environment. Tea and refreshments are provided by the Gurdwara and other well-wishers of the program.

For the past several months, a number of dedicated ladies from different parts of Richmond get to-gether at the Gurdwara for Sukhmani Sahib. After the Sukhmani Sahib readings, they get to-gether in the Langar Hall, cook the Langar and share with eachother and other members of the congregation. Every Tuesday, a family takes on the responsibility for the Langar. This gives the ladies an excellent opportunity to connect with each other and socialize.

India Cultural Centre of Canada Gurdwara Nanak Niwas is very pleased and honoured to support such wonderful programs.
