Sikh-American Gas Station Attendant Shot Dead In Mississippi

MERIDIAN CITY – Sandeep Singh (23), a resident of Ucha Pind village, Punjab, was shot dead by masked robbers at Exxon gas station in Meridian City of Mississippi (US) late on Saturday night.

According to reports received today, the robbers told Sandeep, a gas station employee, to hand over the cash. When he refused, the accused shot him after a scuffle and fled with the money stolen from the cash register. The youth, who sustained a bullet injury in the abdomen, was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed.

Sandeep had arrived in the US five months ago. He was the youngest of three brothers, said Joginder Singh, his father. His elder brothers, Sukhdev Singh and Gurdev Singh, are residing in France.
