CHANDIGARH – Punjab state’s Rural Development Minister Sikander Singh Maluka’s son, Charanjit Singh (45), died following a brief illness in Canada on Wednesday. He is survived by wife and two children. The cremation will take place in Canada.
Maluka has been in Canada since Sunday.
Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal expressed grief over his death and shared his sympathies with the members of the bereaved family.
Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, Cultural Affairs Minister Sohan Singh Thandal and Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia also condoled the death.
Sukhbir said Charanjit had carved out a niche for himself in Canada by his hard work and determination and was active in social service sector also.
