“Capt Amarinder Singh and his family kept sending their ‘loot’ money in the Swiss bank accounts every month after 2005. It is known that he had almost gone bankrupt before forming the government in 2002. His ancestors’ money had exhausted by 2002. The wealth he acquired after coming to power was earned by looting the people of Punjab,” said Arvind Kejriwal, AAP convener.

NEW DELHI – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal today threw a “political” bombshell by revealing alleged Swiss bank account numbers of Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh’s wife Preneet Kaur and son Raninder Singh.

He was speaking at his second “Inqlaab Rally” in the district’s Kot Shamir known as the “land of farmer suicides. He addressed another rally in Doda village.

Kejriwal dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to conduct raids on the Badals and Amarinder if he was serious in digging out black money. “The Badals have the maximum black money. I am giving the proof of Amarinder’s black money stashed in Swiss banks. Modi’s so-called drive against black money has failed to touch the two bigwigs. It has only tormented the common man, who has nothing to hide,” he said.

Sangrur MP Bhagwant Maan, and AAP nominees Prof Baljinder Kaur (Talwandi Sabo) and Rupinder Kaur Ruby (Bathinda rural) accompanied the Delhi Chief Minister to the rallies.

Kejriwal, waving a paper at the audience, said he had fulfilled his promise to the people of Punjab by coming with a proof of Swiss bank accounts of Preneet and Raninder. He, however, neither named the Swiss bank nor distributed the copy of the paper.

“The account number of Preneet is 5090184485 and that of Raninder is 5090184484. The two accounts were opened in a Swiss bank on July 26, 2005. Preneet and Raninder had formed a trust, the account number of which is 5090284483,” the AAP convener said.

Amarinder and his family, he further said, kept sending their ‘loot’ money in the Swiss bank accounts every month after 2005. “It is known that he had almost gone bankrupt before forming the government in 2002. His ancestors’ money had exhausted by 2002. The wealth he acquired after coming to power was earned by looting the people of Punjab.”

On the menace drugs, he said, “Once known as the ‘land of bhangra’, Punjab is now known as the ‘land of drugs’ globally. How can Bhagwant make Punjabis laugh when they have been devastated by the Badals and Amarinder?”

Bhagwant Maan, for his part, hit out at Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal. “Sukhbir was saying AAP was sending ‘baharwalas’ (outsiders) to Punjab. Now, he is asking a ‘baharawala’ (Kejriwal) to contest against him,” he said.

“I am a self-made man and I am ready to sacrifice my career for Punjab. But what will happen if your (Sukhbir’s) political career is finished?” Maan quipped.

Kejriwal paid agent of Jaitley: Amarinder

Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh hit back at AAP, by accusing its convener Arvind Kejriwal of being a “paid agent” of Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. “He is raking up fabricated and politically motivated charges of Swiss bank accounts of my family by recycling old and unauthenticated documents,” he said.

The Congress leader questioned Kejriwal for revealing alleged account numbers of his family at an election rally instead of facing the media on the matter.

“He does not have the courage to hand over the papers to the media, as he does not have answers to questions the media would have raised. He waved some papers from the dais where he could not have been questioned. The alleged bank account numbers were the same which his party colleague Ashish Khetan had released in March. I have already proved these account numbers are fake. It is nothing but a publicity stunt,” Amarinder said.

He alleged there was “an election-motivated nexus” between the SAD-BJP combine and AAP. “The attempt to malign me by implicating my family had begun before General Election in 2014. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched a groundless tirade against my family at an election rally in Barmer. Jaitley then picked it up for his campaign in Amritsar.”

On Bains brothers’ alliance with AAP, the Congress leader said, “Kejriwal has been frustrated by the continuing decline of his party’s prospects in Punjab. Now, he is resorting to all kinds of measures to try and retain the lost ground ahead of the Assembly elections.”
