ZIRAKPUR – Both Akalis and the Punjab Congress are hand in glove to protect each other’s business and political interests. This was stated by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira who was here to attend a function organised by the party leaders.

Stepping up his attack on the Punjab government, Khaira, along with late Capt Kanwaljeet’s wife Bibi Sarabjeet Kaur, today said only AAP had the “antidote” to corruption and vowed to put an end to the drug menace in the state within a few months if the party was voted to power in the 2017 Assembly poll.

Ahead of the Punjab elections, AAP candidate Sukhpal Singh Khaira launched a scathing attack on the state Congress and the SAD, alleging that both parties had ruined Punjab’s every household through corruption and drug menace. Both the Congress and the SAD had, through corruption and drug menace, pushed the state backward and people had lost faith in them.

Addressing a huge gathering, former MLA Khaira said AAP, which emerged on the political horizon of Punjab after winning four Parliamentary seats and nearly 25 per cent vote share in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, had now become a major political force in the state. It is giving both the ruling Akali-BJP combine and the opposition Congress sleepless nights.
