SAFA’s India Live event returns to Granville on Saturday, August 19th

Vancouver, BC – It’s that time of year again! South Asian Family Association (SAFA) is gearing up for their signature annual Summer festival, INDIA LIVE, which is taking place Saturday, August 19th on Granville Street in downtown Vancouver. It starts at 12pm and wraps up at 8pm. This event is FREE for the public and utilizes music, song, dance and visual arts to highlight Vancouver’s intercultural community. There is also a vibrant vendor marketplace that features cultural wares, clothing, gifts and delicious snacks. Family fun for everyone! Workplace Integration For Mature Individuals

PICS Society is providing an employment program called Workplace Integration for Mature Individuals (WIMI 45+), offering classes in the following:

  • Resume and cover letter building
  • Strengthen job search experience
  • Mentorship in pairing with local professional of your original profession
  • Job placement assistance and follow up support
  • Develop Work Action Plan and employer engagement

 

This program partners with local community and business employers who provide one to one follow up support, up to date employment trends, and follow up assistance for up to 9 months.
