“A section of Punjab has been struggling to achieve this right post 1984. There was a period when, being an Akali, you were part of it,” the Dal Khalsa leader told the CM.

HOSHIARPUR – The Dal Khalsa hit out at Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for his “uncalled-for and irrational” reaction to Canadian Sikh leader Jagmeet Singh’s remarks on self-determination.

Kanwar Pal Singh, party’s secretary for political affairs, said Jagmeet had given his views reasonably on the subject, but Capt Amarinder had reacted unreasonably.

The right to self-determination is an alienable right of all nationalities and people who have a distinct identity, history, tradition and language, with a quest for their own state.

“A section of Punjab has been struggling to achieve this right post 1984. There was a period when, being an Akali, you were part of it,” the Dal Khalsa leader told the CM.
