Minister of Citizens’ Services Jinny Sims has been hitting the road to visit people in their communities to discuss internet connectivity andthe innovative ways they are growing the economy. While on the road, Minister Sims also took the opportunity to see first-hand the valuable work of staff at two Service BC offices and engaged with stakeholders on Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy . Sim’s commitment to meet face-to-face with British Columbians in their hometowns took her to the Kootenay communities of Nelson, Trail, Rossland and Castlegarfrom November 14-16 for talks with local officials and enterprising businesses. “It is my strong belief that meeting people – connecting with them and listening to them – is the best way to find out what they need,” Sims said. “This is why I feel it is so important to get out of my office to visit communities around British Columbia.”
