NDP Greets South Asian Media

NDP government Ministers and Premier John Horgan held a Roundtable discussion with members of the South Asian Media in Surrey last week. Horgan was only there in spirit in the form of being on speaker phone as due to bad weather he couldn’t make it out to Surrey. The growing city South of the Fraser and the South Asian community are important to the party and government as it helped them get into power after the last election didn’t produce a clear majority. It was strictly a by the numbers affair with media members addressing some of the issues surrounding the NDP’s election promises and what they have done since taking over from the BC Liberals after their 16-year-rule! It was mostly blah blah stuff – the only real nugget of news came when Horgan responded to a question on PM Justin Trudeau upcoming announcement on the new BC Lt. Governor and told the media that federal Liberal fixer Prem Vinning’s name was not on the short-list that he saw as potential choices, one of which will be taking over from Judith Guichon, the current BC Lt. Governor.
