SURREY – Surrey’s Hardeep Kang, Param Purewal, and Ryan Slater are three of 14 B.C. students who made the National Honour Roll for their outstanding results on the multi-day national Common Final Examination (CFE) administered by the CPA Western School of Business (CPAWSB) in September 2017.

Their achievements were recognized at the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia’s (CPABC) convocation ceremony held on May 12, 2018 at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

“Congratulations to Hardeep, Param, and Ryan for making the national honour roll. All 84 Surrey CPA students have earned their designations through rigorous training and assessment of their business and accounting competencies,” said Heather Banham, FCPA, FCGA, chair of CPABC board of directors. “They represent the future of the accounting profession in British Columbia, and I congratulate each and every one of our new graduates. We welcome them to the ranks of B.C.’s Chartered Professional Accountants.”

A total of 834 B.C. and Yukon CPA students were invited to attend the CPA Convocation Ceremony. Students recognized at the convocation have either become designated members of CPABC this year or will be eligible for membership.

To qualify as a CPA, students must complete rigorous course work, pass the CFE, and fulfill relevant practical experience requirements. The national CFE ensures all Canadian Chartered Professional Accountants meet the same high standards, which are recognized nationally and internationally.
