Surrey Public Art Advisory Committee Visits North Vancouver Artworks

The Public Art Advisory Committee of Surrey City Council on art projects and public art opportunity which offers high visibility and public engagement to a diverse audience on a multitude of levels.  The public art opportunity creates welcoming and engaging context for the public uses of Surrey’s lively and active urban community. PAAC organized a bus tour to visit a selected artworks in North Vancouver on June 26,2018 which was coordinated by Ashley Guindon supported by Manager- L. Davison and art intern -Hossam Meaward. The chairperson of Public Art Advisory Committee of Surrey (PAAC)- Councillor Villeneuve, Vice Chair J.Adams , members-Achrya Dwivedi and J. Stewart joined other forty art lovers. Tour started from Surrey City Center at 9.00AM. The artworks : “Eagle, Roven, Frog and Bear” totem  by Tom Moses, “Lonsdale Pier Site Furnishings” by Bill Pechet and Stephanie Robb, “Trumpet” by Richard Wojciechowski, “White Winds’ by Gerald Gladstone, “Fountain Mosaic” by Bruce Walther and Youth, “Ground Water Sea Level” by Germaine Koh, “Cathedral” by Douglas Senft, “Male and Female Welcome Figures” by Darren Yelton”, “Nebula Garden Art, Site” by Claudia Cuesta and Bill Baker, ” Time Keepers” by  Elizabeth Roy and ” Triumph of the Technocrat” by Reece Terris. Packed lunch was served to tourists at Jack Louks Plaza around 12.15 and all were safely brought back to surrey. Everyone enjoyed and learnt a lot about the various artworks.
