Surrey Nurse Dupinder Saran Running For School Trustee With ACT Now Surrey

SURREY – Surrey-based nurse Dupinder Kaur Saran has joined the ACT Now Surrey slate as a School Board candidate.

 

ACT Now Surrey is a three-person slate led by former teacher Niovi Patsicakis and also includes Aronjit Lageri. The slate said it is representing teachers, parents, and community members. Each has a dedicated focus on providing the best possible education for our children, a healthy workplace and learning environment, and an inclusive place for our community to gather, grow, learn, and support each other.

 

Saran has been a Registered Nurse for 20 years, has worked with Fraser Health as well as HealthLinkBC, and recently launched a local business, Nurse On the Go Home and Healthcare Services, where she sits as CEO. Dupinder is a volunteer with Akal Academy, a non-profit organization serving youth.

She is a Director with Sikh Seva Foundation which assists international students, and a volunteer with Guru Nanak’s Free Kitchen, as well as an active volunteer at her son’s school. Dupinder is aware of the challenges and needs of our children and is particularly concerned with providing them learning environments which focuson physical and mental health.

“We can do more to help children living in poverty and attending inner-city schools such as improving nutrition programs. We need to work on securing additional funding to help eliminate portables as they are not healthy.”
