India Cultural Centre of Canada Gurdwara Nanak Niwas is pleased to welcome an addition to its roster of priests (Gianis). Recently, management committee of this place of worship was pleased to extend a warm welcome to Giani Amrik Singh from Dehradoon, India. Amrik Singh is a prominent Katha vachak. He received his basic education in the capital city of Uttrakhand and attended the prestigious Sikh Missionary College in Anandpur Sahib to become well versed in religiousstudies.Amrik Singh has spent a lot of time serving in a number of Gurdwaras in Bangkok, Singapore, Australia and Indonesia. He received his junior diploma in music from Allahabad Paryag Sangeet Academy.Amrik Singh received his inspiration from his parents, especially his father Jasbir Singh.

At Gurdwara Nanak Niwas, Amrik Singh has already commenced sharing his knowledge and expertise in music, kirtan and katha with the congregation. Along with daily kirtan, he will be serving the Sangat with his katha. India Cultural Centre of Canada Gurdwara Nanak Niwas Management Committee invites the public to come and listen to the melodious kirtan and Gurbani vichar/katha.
