Man Killed After Altercation In South Surrey, Two Arrested

Surrey RCMP have arrested two male suspects in relation to this homicide. They remain in custody, but no charges have been laid at this time. Both males were known to the victim, and police do not believe that there are any outstanding suspects.

SURREY – An altercation between known individuals led to the death of one man, who was found suffering from a bullet wound and died shortly thereafter

On September 6th at approximately 12:30 am, the Surrey RCMP responded to an altercation in the 1600 block of 160 street.

Upon police attendance, a 46-year-old victim was located suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite all attempts to revive the individual the victim succumbed to their injuries.

The parties involved are known to one another and there is no public safety risk known at this time.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called and is now leading this investigation, working alongside Surrey RCMP and the Integrated Forensic Identification Services.

“This appears to be a tragic and isolated incident,” said Constable Harrison Mohr with IHIT. “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family, and our team of investigators are working diligently to try to find the answers his family needs, as well as the answers we need for a successful investigation.”

“I’ve lived here for 12 years, nothing like this has happened. Everything is getting displaced,” said a man, who lives in the area. “Now people are getting shot here in South Surrey, in a nice area of Surrey.”
