Anand Jain Honoured Posthumously By Hindi Literary Society

Anand Jain joined the Hindi Literary Society when it was formed by Acharya Dwivedi with his friends in 1998. He supported and strengthened the Society in its developing stage. He worked in various positions such as a director, treasurer and president. He was committed to promote and popularize Hindi language and literature. He helped the Society in organizing poetry recital-sessions (Kavi Goshthi) and Hindi Lok Mahotsava. He gave cash prizes to encourage the winners of Annual Hindi Competition

He was celebrated Hindi poet and his collection of poems were published under the title -“Atma Aur Parmatma”.

The Hindi Literary Society of Canada, BC in its annual function on September 29, 2019 honored the Anand Jain posthumously for his valuable contribution to the Society. His wife-Bina Jain was given the bouquet, with love and respect, by former presidents Deepa and Pushplata Sharma and plaque was presented by other HLS’s Board members in the presence of more than 400 guests. Acharya Dwivedi ,while paying tribute to Anand Jain, admired his selfless services to the HLS. “He was exceptionally humble, free from ego and devoted to Hindi cause” commented Acharya.

Annand Jain migrated to Canada in 1966 with his wife Bina Jain. He was having M Com degree from India and he received Teachers Training here in BC. He taught high school students for more than 12 years. Jain in the year 1981 left teaching and started his own business with his wife Bina which was continued till 2009

Anand Jain volunteered his services as a Jain priest and played an important role in establishing Jain temple in Surrey. He passed away on September 10, 2019. He is going to be remembered for his selfless meritorious services to the community.
