Like every other Gurdwara, India Cultural Centre of Canada Gurdwara Nanak Niwas is a very busy place of worship throughout the year. Beginning March, the wedding season starts. Every week there are at least two or three weddings. However, during the winter there are a lot of Langar Kirtans and birthday celebrations. On Friday, February 7, the large Dosanjh family, their friends and relatives got to-gether to celebrate their mother/grandmother Prem Kaur Dosanjh’s 80 th birthday. The guests came all the way from California, Toronto, Vancouver Island and Metro Vancouver. It was a great way to get to-gether and celebrate Mrs. Dosanjh‘s special day. Mrs. Prem Kaur Dosanjh is a very kind hearted, community minded, pleasant and devoted family person. Thus, it was a great honour for the Gurdwara Management Committee members to join in the celebration. On behalf of the management President Balbir Jawanda and Secretary Balwant Sanghera congratulated Mrs. Dosanjh on her 80th birthday and prayed for her health and happiness. The entire Dosanjh family and their guests as well as the congregation enjoyed the heart -warming Gurbani Kirtan by Bhai Manmit Singh(Patiala Wale) and his Jatha. Giani Amrik Singh beautifully explained the meanings of the GurbanShabads recited by the Jatha and conveyed best wishesto Mrs. Dosanjh. After the Ardas, the attendees enjoyed a delicious vegetarian Langar and the birthday cake. Happy Birthday, Mrs. Dosanjh!
