‘Ram-Leela’ Makers Turn The Tables On Complainant, Booked For Buying Pirated CD


CHANDIGARH – The tables were virtually turned on the complainant in the“Ram-Leela” matter when the director and cast of the film sought the registrationof a case against him for allegedly procuring the movie’s pirated CD.As the case came up for resumed hearing, Justice Jitendra Chauhan of thePunjab and Haryana High Court was told that the complainant in the caseagainst director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and actors Deepika Padukone andRanveer Singh had given a CD of the movie to the police.In response, counsel for the director and the cast told the court that the officialCD of the movie had not been released; and the CD with the police waspirated. He also sought directions from the court to register a case against thecomplainant under the anti-piracy laws.
