Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke announced the 2024 Surrey Good Citizen of the Year award! This year two remarkable residents received the award for their outstanding contributions to the community. Tarlochan “Tochi” Singh Sandhu, is one of the recipients whose remarkable journey spans over 60 years of dedicated community service in banking and sports. “Since immigrating to Canada in 1988, Tochi has revolutionized the credit union industry and earned accolades for his leadership, including having the Envision Financial’s President Leadership Award renamed in his honor—reflecting his unwavering commitment to strengthening communities,” said Locke while congratulating both the winners and sharing picture on her social media platform. Rick Hugh, whose decades of service and dedication to empowering youth have made a lasting impact in Cloverdale.
