28-year-old Yuvraj Goyal killed in Surrey; four arrested

SURREY, BC: Police in Surrey have arrested four men in connection to the shooting death of 28-year-old Yuvraj Goyal on June 7thPolice said initial evidence suggests this was a targeted shooting, investigators are working to determine the reason that Goyal, “a community member with no history of police contact, was killed.”

Goyal was shot dead at the 900-block of 164 Street, Surrey, BC on June 7th at approximately 8:46am. The police located him dead on the crime scene. Shortly after police were advised of a vehicle fire in the 18500-block of McMillan Road, Surrey.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took conduct of the investigation on June 8, identified and arrested 23-year old Manvir Basram of Surrey, 20-year old Sahib Basra of Surrey, 23-year old Harkirat Jhutty of Surrey, and 20-year old Keilon Francois of Ontario,. All four have been charged with first-degree murder, for the shooting of Goyal.

According to Indian media reports, Goel was from Ludhiana and only child of his parents. He was working at a car dealership. Global News reported that Yuvraj was on the phone, talking to his mother. He disconnected the phone at 8:45 a.m., and the shooting happened at 8:46 a.m.
