SUVA – 40,000 new Fiji passports are expected to arrive next month into the country.
Department of Immigration Director, Major Nemani Vuniwaqa said his recent visit to Oberthur Technologies in France has allowed him to see firsthand the compiling process of passports whereby he is satisfied that all requirements set out by the Fiji Government are being fulfilled.
He added that another 36,000 passports are expected in November and confirms at present there is slightly over 1,000 passport applications currently backlogged from August 2011.
