Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has released his list of parliamentary critics. He’s chosen Alberta Conservative MP Jasraj Singh Hallan as the party’s new finance critic.
“I am proud to announce our hard-working and strong team that will take on Trudeau and his costly coalition and their plans to continue to cripple the Canadian economy and make life more costly for Canadians,” said Poilievre.
While thanking Poilievre for showing trust, Hallan said, “I am blessed to represent the incredible people of Calgary Forest Lawn as their Member of Parliament and now Shadow Minister for Finance.”
He said at the age of 5, he came to Canada with his family from the Middle East. “We did not come with much other than hope in our hearts and the Canadian dream. Over the years, we went through much adversity, but we continued to survive.”
“Whether it was waking up early in the morning to deliver papers, going to school and then coming back to pursue another entrepreneurial adventure to survive, my parents, siblings and I never gave up. I am an immigrant who was an at-risk youth. However, with the grace of God, Canada’s love of free enterprise and the Canadian dream, I worked hard, attained education in accounting and ran a successful small business,” he said.
“Our Leader has been very clear, he wants everyone to have the same opportunities to succeed as we both had coming from humble beginnings. However, the Canadian dream that many immigrants and I have enjoyed is disappearing thanks to Liberal economic mismanagement and neglect. That is why our Conservative team will continue to work hard and fight for all Canadians. We are fighting to give Canadians and new comers the chance to pursue the Canadian dream without restriction. We are fighting for hope, freedom and prosperity,” he said.
