Arman Dhillon of Alberta acquitted in 2016 murder charge, gunned down in Oakville

MILTON, ON: The 27- year-old Arman Dhillon of Alberta who was acquitted in a deadly Edmonton nightclub shooting in 2016, was identified the victim of what police believe was a targeted shooting in Oakville on Aug. 19, 2022.

Dhillon was shot in the early morning hours of August 19 on a residential street in the area of Belt Lane and Littlefield Crescent in Oakville.  Police were called to the area after numerous calls reporting suspected gun shots.

Upon police arrival, two victims – one male and one female – were located suffering from gunshot wounds. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the female victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries. Early information indicates that the victim(s) were targeted by the shooter.

The suspect(s) fled the scene in a vehicle shortly after the shooting.

The suspect vehicle in this homicide has been identified as a white Acura MDX that was set on fire on Addingham Crescent in east Oakville on August 19, 2022.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses, and property owners that may have surveillance video or dash cam footage.

Dhillon was acquitted of a first-degree murder charge in 2018 in connection with a deadly shooting in Edmonton that claimed the life of a 30-year-old man at a nightclub in 2016.
