Since 1994, Fairchild Radio, a Chinese multicultural radio station in Vancouver, has been organizing its annual Winter Warm Wave Clothing Drive to benefit the Salvation Army. On Sunday, November 27, the radio station set up a booth outside of its office to collect used clothing items and blankets. In merely 4 hours, hundreds of listeners brought over a total of 2,031 lbs of used clothes, breaking last year’s record of 1,212 lbs in the same period of time. Fairchild Radio plans to set up the collection booth again on December 18 and it encourages everyone to donate their unwanted clothes, blankets and even books and toys to help those in need.
