Beginning next Wednesday, November 23rd, the Surrey RCMP will once again be hosting its successful “Coffee with a Cop” events around the city for residents and business owners.
Coffee with a Cop provides the public with an opportunity to meet local police officers and District Office staff and discuss neighbourhood issues in an informal and neutral space. Modelled after similar initiatives across North America, Surrey’s first Coffee with a Cop series was piloted last summer and ran again this past spring, with positive feedback received from the community.
“We know our residents lead busy lives, but based on previous feedback we know there is an appetite for this type of open discussion around local issues that affect our communities,” says Inspector Andy LeClair, Community Support and Safety Officer, who will be hosting the events. “This is my first time being involved in such an event but I’m looking forward to meeting local residents and business owners and hearing their feedback over coffee.”
The events (and coffee) are free and open to all area residents and business owners. Join Inspector Andy LeClair and local District Office staff for coffee and conversation at the following locations (no registration required):
