NURMAHAL – Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal took on PPCC president Captain Aamrinder Singh. He told him not to threaten NRIs and asked him if he felt Punjab was his father’s property (tere pyo da Punjab hai?).

Addressing a gathering at Malsian in the Shahkot constituency, Kejriwal said, “Amarinder has warned that if the NRIs campaigning in Punjab don’t return, they won’t even be able to attend the ‘bhog’ of their parents. Main Captain nu kehna chahunda haan: Tere pyo da Punjab hai?”

He also attacked Amarinder for allegedly calling NRIs terrorists. He said if Amarinder tries to stop NRIs, Punjabis would give a strong answer. “Who is he to stop NRIs? I want to tell Captain sahab if he tries to stop even a single NRI, to Punjab ke log eent se eent baja denge. Rukne vale nahi hain,” Kejriwal said.

He said as NRIs are the pride of the state, the AAP government would work with them to strengthen various sectors, rather than threatening them.

Addressing packed rallies at Shahkot and Nurmahal, Kejriwal took digs at Shahkot SAD candidate Ajit Singh Kohar.

Levelling allegations at SAD for the Bargari desecration, he reiterated that the AAP government would put the guilty behind bars. He said that while the Badals claim they are in a Panthic party, why haven’t they acted against the culprits?

Suspended AAP candidate Baldeep Singh, who had contested the LSpoll from Sultanpur Lodhi, shared the dais with Kejriwal. Baldeep offered unconditional support to the party. Baldeep Singh said, “I never left (the party). Cheema had sought my support which I’m happy to offer as I respect him.”
