David Eby has released his plan of action to help people and families over the next four years. He is pledging to cut taxes for the middle class, open the door to homes people can afford, and make sure everyone gets good quality health care when and where they need it.
“It’s feeling difficult and uncertain out there for too many. It’s our responsibility to help people now, so you don’t just get by–you get ahead,” said Eby. “Our plan is built to tackle the biggest challenges you and your family are facing–from the cost of living and housing to strengthening your health care. John Rustad’s plan delays relief until 2029, and then gives more to owners of penthouses than everyday British Columbians.”
David Eby’s Action Plan For You commitments:
Help with your daily costs: $1,000 boost for household budgets with a middle-class tax cut, each and every year. Eby’s plan will exempt an additional $10,000 of individual income from tax every year – providing a tax cut of over $1,000 for households and over $500 for individual British Columbians. In 2025, Eby’s middle-class tax cut will be provided through a direct rebate.
Deliver homes you can afford: Cracking down on speculators and helping create 300,000 more homes for the middle-class.
Better health care for you: Hiring more healthcare workers than ever before and creating a second medical school to train the next generation of doctors.
Make our streets safer: Supporting people who need help while giving police the tools to keep assault weapons and handguns away from gangs.
Build a stronger economy–for everyone: Expanding training opportunities for family-supporting jobs while fighting climate change and making polluters pay.
