NEW DELHI – Thehacker who shook theUS intelligencemachinery and hadworld leaders railingagainst Washingtonfor spying on thempicked up crucial skillsin India. EdwardSnowden, the National SecurityAgency contractor-turnedwhistleblower,spent a week inNew Delhi training in core Javaprogramming and advancedethical hacking. It’s this trainingthat got him certified as an ECCouncilCertified SecurityAnalyst (ECSA).Now in Russia and charged withespionage for leaking documentsrelated to the US surveillance,Snowden trained at offshoreIT training and certificationprovider Koenig Solutionsin Moti Nagar, New Delhi in2010. He flew into India onSeptember 3 from Japan and leftfor the US on September 9.The Registration of ForeignersRule 1939 Form C Hotel Arrivalreport, a copy of which is withTOI, shows Snowden checkedinto Koenig Inn run by theinstitute in Karol Bagh at2.30pm on September 3. “Hepaid over $2,000 towards histraining fee, lodging and boarding,”said Rohit Aggarwal,founder and CEO of KoenigSolutions. Koenig is an authorizedtraining partner for certificationprogrammes from companieslike Microsoft, Cisco,Oracle, EC-Council, Citrix andVMware. It has trained over20,000 foreign IT professionalsacross five centres in the countryand one in Dubai.
