Family Of Badals’ Bus Mayhem Victims Demand Rs 50-Lakh Relief

BARNALA – The family members of deceased Darshan Singh and injured Jasbir Singh, who had met with a road accident on December 12 in Barnala when a bus of Dabwali Transport of the Badal family hit their motorcycle, today submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, demanding Rs 50 lakh each as compensation. They also demanded government jobs and writing off their loans in the memorandum, addressed to the Chief Minister. They also sought addition of Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code into the FIR.

According to family members, Darshan Singh and Jasbir Singh, both residents of Nangal village (near Barnala), had come to Barnala for some work on a motorcycle on December 12. When they were on Bajakhana road, near grain market, at Barnala, the bus of Dabwali Transport hit their motorcycle. Darshan Singh died on the way to DMC Hospital, Ludhiana, while Jasbir Singh is under treatment at the same hospital.

SHO Barnala city police station Paramjit Singh said a case had been registered under Sections 304-A, 279, 337, 338 and 427 of the IPC against driver of the bus Iqbal Singh, who had been arrested.
