Fed Up Already!

After just five days of living on welfare, NDP MLA Jagrup Brar is finding nothing to like in his little experiment on trying to live on BC’s $610 month welfare rate. His first task on Wednesday was to find affordable housing and for $375 a month, he got a little cubicle-sized room in a seven-person shared home. “That was a shocking experience for me when I saw [the space],” Brar said, adding the conditions endured by thousands of welfare recipients are “unacceptable”.
