This Is Not India – But Calgary Alberta!
Four people have died and more than 100,000 people have been evacuated from Calgary, Alberta due to heavy flooding which is rivalling the nature’s fury in India where hundreds, if not thousands, have been killed in what can only be described as total disaster. Canadian Forces Immediate Response Unit (IRU) has deployed with about 600 soldiers on the ground and another 600 ready to go from 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group based in Edmonton. Their priorities will be humanitarian aid, search and rescue and helping people get back in their homes when it’s safe.
