SUVA – A 34-year-old former Pay Clerk pleaded guilty to 11 counts of obtaining financial advantage by deception today.
Vishal Chand on 11 separate occasions while being employed for Hexagon Group of Hotels cashed cheques which totalled to $10,176.80 between 28th September to 2nd December last year.
Upon mitigation, Chand said he is not employed, he lives with his mother and he was in financial difficulties when he took the money.
Magistrate Thushara Rajasinghe will sentence him on 25th October
