SURREY – In celebration of the upcoming release of the new film, Breakaway, the makers of the film are presenting a free concert on Saturday September 24 at the Bell Centre, Surrey from 12-4pm. This admission-free event will feature cast appearances by stars, Vinay Virmani, Gurpreet Singh “Ghuggi”, and Russell Peters, along with an open-air concert with performers JoSH, Punjabi By Nature, and Jassi Sidhu.
Hari Om Entertainment, First Take Entertainment, Productions Polytechnique RP and Whizbang Films together present Breakaway, a cross-cultural hockey drama set in the Indo-Canadian community in suburban Toronto, Canada and starring Canadian newcomers Vinay Virmani, Camilla Belle, and comedian Russell Peters as well as popular Punjabi comedian Gurpreet Ghuggi. .
“I grew up in Brampton, where Breakaway is set, and I know the characters in this movie first-hand. This is a great story about an Indian kid with a dream to do his own thing… something I know a thing or two about,” offers star Russell Peters.
