The newest foodie craze has hit Surrey-Delta as Toronto-based Tandoori Flame has opened it’s first restaurant at the border of Surrey-Delta which has seen line-ups of food lovers wanting to have a taste of the buffet experience. But the real question is: Are you a Buffet Man? My former friend Vince was called a Buffet man as he and I did the round of Buffet houses in Los Angeles in the 1990 when he was trying to become the first Desi Hollywood star and star screenwriter. He loved buffet and had his own method to the buffet madness – he would say start from the fruits – let those settle before you go for the salads and the carbs and eventually the too tempting desserts. Those were the buffet days but for Surrey-Delta and lower mainland residents – the Tandoori flame buffet experience is here and you have to try it to see if you are indeed The Buffet Man! PR maven Neesha Hothi organized a media and VIP night on Wednesday and we attended the tasty gathering, one of the only few benefits of being in the media. But these days – some media outlets bring them by the half dozen to these events and it looks like a feeding frenzy of free food. Oh well – today everyone’s got a rag or a youtube channel or some blog by salesman and I won’t even mention the TV channels and radio guys but that’s how the Desi media world turns.
LOL! But it was an enjoyable night at the Tandoori Flame and we hope to be back soon to savour their unique alcohol and non-alcohol drinks along with the wide assortment of items of every sort. Tandoori Flame is a family-run restaurant group owned by the Gulati family – Gajendra, Prabhjot, Shraey and Aman Gulati. The family has successfully established two restaurants in the Greater Toronto area in Mississauga and Brampton.
