LONDON – Ghazala Hameed, the wife of leading NRI in UK — Lord Khalid Hameed — was appointed high sheriff of Greater London on Friday.

Lord Hameed, a crossbench peer, had earlier held the office of the high sheriff of Greater London.
A distinguished doctor, Lord Hameed from Lucknow, was for many years the executive director and CEO of London’s Cromwell Hospital.
NRI Dr JS Bikhu has been appointed high sheriff of Nottinghamshire.
The office of high sheriff of Greater London was created in 1965 and covers the ceremonial county of Greater London. It does not cover city of London which has its own two Shariffs.
