Grand Jugalbandi!

Local Indian classic music lovers got a rare treat with an extraordinary evening of classical music with a Jugalbandi between not only two, but three astounding artists. Beautiful Sitar was provided by Dr. Harvinder Sharma and Tabla was rhythmically played by Pt. Ramdas Palsule. And the highlight of the show was the instrument “Jaltarang” showcased by Pt. Milind Tulankar. The Jaltarang was composed of bowls of various sizes with varying levels of water placed in a semi-circle around the artist. He then performed and produced such magical sounds with his two wand like sticks as he tapped and gave ways to the melodies of water. Organized by Naad Foundation, which continues to impress with the high level performances they continue to present and host. Just last month they held a concert with the well renowned artists Ustad Shahid Parvez (Sitar) and Ustad Sukhwinder Singh (Tabla) at the Bell Performing Arts Centre
