MUMBAI – This year, Hrithik Roshan has been confirmed to hit the silver screen a day after Diwali — with father-director Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish 3. And if things had gone as per plan, the actor would also have kept a date with the festival with a release in 2014.

But now, we have been informed that Shuddhi — a Karan Johar production — has been delayed. So instead of releasing on Diwali next year, it is likely to be 2015’s big summer release. “Yes, there are chances that Shuddhi will be pushed a bit. But right now, we haven’t taken a call on the exact nitty-gritty,” says Apoorva Mehta, CEO of Karan’s production house. The film also stars Kareena Kapoor in the lead role.

Hrithik, however, isn’t worried about the delay. “It’s going to be pushed forward by the amount of time that my recuperation has taken. But that doesn’t mean anything negative. It only means that we are going to get more time to prepare and more time to make things even better,” says the actor, whose film schedules have been reshuffled due to his ill-health. His next, Bang Bang has also been delayed. Earlier supposed to start around mid-2013, the film’s shooting will now begin in November.

Hrithik underwent brain surgery in July after suffering a head injury.
