Better at Home (Surrey-Whalley)’s group social initiative for isolated South Asian Women called Humjoli organized a New Year’s and Lohri celebration this week. The event organized at Taj Park Banquet Hall was attended by over 100 women and guests of honor were MP Sukh Dhaliwal and MLA Sue Hammell. The women strung together an interesting line-up of items including a skit, group song, a qawaali and much more. A delicious lunch was served and a number of gift baskets courtesy of 411 Seniors Centre Society were also given as door prizes.”Humjoli” meaning friend or buddy is a group social initiative of Better at Home Surrey-Whalley hosted by PICS for Isolated South Asian Senior Women.
