India’s 78th Independence Day celebration

India’s 78th Independence Day was celebrated with pride and patriotic fervor across Canada. In Vancouver the Consulate General of India in Vancouver. Consul General Masakui Rungsung hoisted the Indian flag and delivered the Hon’ble President’s Address. Members of the Indian Ex-servicemen Society of BC were also invited. In Edmonton Independence Day celebrations was organized by the Council of Indian Societies (CISE) on 17 August. Over 300 diaspora members, MLAs and city councillors celebrated the event. The celebrations witnessed 21 diverse cultural and diaspora groups from City of Edmonton coming together to showcase India’s rich cultural heritage. Indiyeah! Fest in Calgary was organized by the vibrant Indian diaspora. The mega event saw over 7,000 people and 19 diverse cultural and diaspora groups coming together to showcase India’s rich cultural heritage. A truly unforgettable celebration of India’s independence and cultural diversity!
