Indo-Canadian Man Charged In Case Of Human Remains Found In Ontario

TORONTO  – Indo-Canadian man has been charged in the case of human remains uncovered in Ontario.

Vikram Dhindsa has been identified as the accused in the now deceased man accused in the case of human remains found in McDougall Township recently.

According to Parry Sound courthouse documents Dhindsa, 34, of Mississauga, was charged by the West Parry Sound OPP with “disposing of a body in a wooded area.”

On Sunday, Jan. 15, just before 8 p.m. the West Parry Sound OPP was called to a snowmobile trail off Nobel Road where human remains were found.

Dhindsa was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Jan. 17 after an OPP forensics van on West Parry Sound OPP business was spotted at a Mississauga condo building.

The charge against him was withdrawn on Wednesday, Jan. 18 after his death, according to the court document.

On Wednesday, Jan. 18 a man was found dead in his cell at the Central North Correctional Centre in Penetanguishene, according to local newspaper, The Mirror. The OPP is not commenting on the death at the CNCC and the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services did not release the inmate’s name.

Detectives of the West Parry Sound OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of Detective Inspector Mark Zulinski of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are continuing this ongoing investigation.

A post-mortem on the human remains found in McDougall is now complete but no further details are available.
