SURREY – An Indo-Canadianman from Surrey has beenawarded almost $1.3 millionafter a car accident that left himwith spinal injuries.On June 11, 2008, RandyRajinder Bains, 26 at the time,collided with a vehicle beingdriven by Jasvir Singh Brar atthe corner of 92 Avenue and132 Street. Bains was driving tohis job as a machinist at thetime, and hasn’t worked since,according court documentsmade public last Friday (Oct. 4).B.C. Supreme Court JusticeBruce Cohen found that Bainssuffers from permanent spinalinjury and chronic pain.Cohen determined that Bainswas entitled to $1.29 million indamages to cover loss of wages,loss of future income, cost offuture care and other damages.
