Amandeep Singh Dhillon of Calgary is charged with killing woman in her 70s, who died instantly when the truck she was riding in was struck head on by Dhillon’s truck.
CALGARY – An Indo-Canadian man from Calgary faces several charges after being behind the wheel of a truck that slammed head on with another vehicle on Sunday, killing a 70 year old woman, who died as a result of the crash.
The three other occupants, a senior male and two children were transported to hospital in critical condition.
Amandeep Singh Dhillon of Calgary is charged with one count of impaired driving causing death and three counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm.
He is also charged with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
The crash occurred on Sunday night at around 9:30 p.m. at 17 Ave. and 100 St. S.E.
Both vehicles burst into flames after the impact.
The identity of the female victim will not be released at the request of the family.
Dhillon, 30, appeared in court on Tuesday.
