July 1st Declared As Sant Teja Singh Day In BC

    Backed by the Queen, BC has declared July 1st as Sant Teja Singh Day. The special honour has been dedicated to the honorable Sikh-Canadian Professor Sant Teja Singh, a spiritual personality, an ally to the Gadar Movement who was a high quality scholar and the constitution creator of the Khalsa Diwan Societies of Canada in North America.  Sant Teja Singh made huge contribution in his struggle to fight for the rights of immigrants on Canada soil. He was also part of their struggle against racism.   The Sant Teja Singh Day proclamation was issued by the Lieutenant Governor and BC Attorney General Mike Farnworth and it  is an honor for the entire community and a reflection of the great Sant’s achievements.
