Surrey, BC: Shakespeare said what’s in a name. Sometimes names can create confusions. Same confusion spread around, when mayoral candidate Brenda Locke announced eighth candidate for her Surrey Connect slate.
Locke announced that Harry Bains is running for the Surrey Council seat and has joined the Surrey Connect slate.
But it is not our local MLA and BC’s Labour Minister Harry Bains who has joined Locke. The one running for the Surrey council is Harry Bains, Surrey’s realtor.
“Harry Bains brings real estate and corporate law experience to our team and wants to improve the permitting process to address affordability,” said Locke. “We are excited to have him join our slate of candidates, all with impressive backgrounds, diversity and commitment to serve the people of Surrey.”
Brenda Locke added, “We have built an incredible team to represent Surrey residents at city hall; people with integrity and deep knowledge of the issues we face.”
Harry Bains joins Brenda Locke, Ramona Kaptyn, Sebastian Sajda, Rochelle Prasad, Pardeep Kooner, Wil Kwok, Rob Stutt and Gordon Hepner on the Surrey Connect slate.
