The next Literary reading will be held on Tuesday, August 19th, 2014 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm  in George Mackie  library which is @ the corner of  84 and  112 street in Delta. Event will feature  Poet Satish Gulati and Davinder Singh Punia. Satish Gulati is a Well known Punjabi Ghazal writer, Publisher and has Three Books published. Man of few words has written high class Ghazal. He also wrote one Safarnama.  He regularly writes Poetry and shares with other writers on Doordarshan. We will hear his poetry  & ask questions about his Creative Journey and experiences as Poet & Publisher.

Shri Krishan Janamashtmi marks the celebration of the birth of Lord Sri Krishna. He was born to King Vasudeva and Devaki Devi on the eighth day of the dark fortnight, in the month of Sravana. This festival is also known as Sri Krishna Jayanti and Krishnashtmi.

Sri Krishna is considered as the eighth avatar (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu (one of three major Hindu Gods) on earth. He is considered to be the Lord’s most glorious incarnations. It is said that his remembrance with true heart, brings extreme joy and pleasure because Sri Krishna himself was a manifestation of joy at all levels and in all walks of life.

Vedic Seniors Parivar Centre of Vedic Hindu Cultural Society Surrey invites South Asian Adults/ Senior members and non members to attend Musical Melodies on Violin Program played by Mohan Bhojwani a visiting Musician from London ( U.K ) on August 17th 2014 ( Sunday ) from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm at Shanti Niketan hall 8321 – 140th street Surrey BC. He will play Bollywood Hindi Songs Tunes on Violin and being a good singer will sing Hindi songs also, light snacks and tea will be served after the entertainment program is over.
