Longshoremen of union local ILWU 502 held a Sahej Patth at Khalsa Diwan Society ‘Sukh Sagar Gurdwara’ in New Westminster. Everyone was invited and many came to a Gurdwara for the very first time. The hospitality and spiritual atmosphere was overwhelming. It was a surprise to many that free food was served daily throughout the day and that anyone could attend. Workers took part in the reading and listening of Patth over a period of ten days and helped with prep and serving of Langar. Blessings were sought and Ardass was done for the well being of all longshoremen in all union locals. The workers have decided to make this an annual event and starting next year it will take place on the Labour Day long weekend.
