Man Found Dead In Richmond On Sunday Identified As Indo-Canadian

RICHMOND – The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male found deceased in Richmond on Sunday, June 17 as Indo-Canadian man.

After an exhaustive post-mortem investigation and with assistance from the BC Police Missing Persons Center, Surrey RCMP and Richmond RCMP, the male was determined to be Sukhmohan Vandher of Surrey.

Vandher, aged 48, was last seen alive in Surrey on Nov. 26, 2011.

On June 17, his body was recovered from the Fraser River along Dyke Road in Steveston, and transported to Vancouver General Hospital for further forensic examination.

An autopsy has ruled out foul play.

The family of Vandher has been notified of his death. On behalf of the family, the BC Coroners Service asked the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
