Mela Gadri Babian Da festival to be held on Sunday, Aug. 4 in Holland Park

The 28th annual Mela Gadri Babian Da festival will be celebrated this long weekend at Surrey’s Holland Park. The festival commemorates and celebrates the Gadri Babai, immigrants from Punjab who fought for the end of colonialism in South Asia. The festival will honour political activists who were instrumental in providing South Asian-Canadians the right to vote, in what was a four-decades-long struggle.
