Public assistance needed in identifying two suspectsexiting the stolen Mazda

NORTH VANCOUVER, BC: On March 11, 2022, at approximately 2:45 p.m. North Vancouver RCMP received multiple reports of shots fired in the parking lot of the Real Canadian Superstore located at 333 Seymour Boulevard, North Vancouver.

North Vancouver RCMP front line officers and BC Emergency Health Services (EHS) attended and located a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was taken to hospital and despite all efforts to revive the victim he succumbed to his injuries.


The victim was identified as 34-year-old Milad Rahimi. Rahimi was known to police and police believe this was a targeted incident. “Mr. Rahimi was known to police and his murder has all the markings of a targeted incident,” said Detective Corporal Sukhi DHESI, IHIT.

 Anyone that was in the area of the Real Canadian Superstore and Seymour Blvd and Mt. Seymour Parkway on March 112022 between 2:30 – 3 p.m. with CCTV or dash cam was urged to contact IHIT immediately. 

“The suspect vehicle fled north on Seymour Blvd and then is believed to have turned westbound on Mt. Seymour Parkway. The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model dark blue Mazda 3 hatchback,” Dhesi said.

With the assistance of members of the public, IHIT investigators were able to locate the suspect vehicle, the dark blue Mazda 3 with the stolen licence plates

IHIT released video footage, photographs and descriptions of two people associated to this vehicle who were seen exiting the Mazda after the shooting.

Public is being urged to look carefully at the images and video in order to assist IHIT investigators to identify these individuals.  If anyone recognizes or saw these people in the area of 300-block Tempe Crescent or in the surrounding area, you are asked to contact IHIT immediately.

IHIT investigators are asking for any witnesses, dashcam or CCTV footage in this area from Friday March 11, 2022 between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m, and Saturday March 12, 2022 between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

IHIT investigators are attempting to identify the two people seen exiting the Mazda 3.

The driver of the Mazda 3 is described as wearing a:

  • Black Hoody;
  • Grey pants with either a patched or torn pattern;
  • Black shoes;
  • Wearing a medical mask and
  • Carrying a grey backpack with a single strap.

The passenger exiting the Mazda 3 is described as wearing:

  • 3/4 length black jacket with hood. This jacket has a white symbol on the left shoulder;
  • Grey pants, and
  • Black shoes.
